The Pats in 9-8 games

In the Pats 4,400+ All-Time regular season a high scoring game like the outcome of last nights' contest isn't uncommon but for a game to end 9-8 is a pretty rare feat.

The last time that the Pats were in a 9-8 contest was back in the 1995-96 season in which the Pats defeated the Wheat Kings February 7, 1996 before 3,334 fans.

Prior to that it happened January 30, 1990 against the Saskatoon Blades in front of 3,372 fans.

The only loss the Pats took was back on October 28, 1979 again against the Blades in Saskatoon with a crowd of 1,500.

The second time it happened was another game against the Blades in Saskatoon on December 15, 1978 (coincidentally 4 days before I was born) that was witnessed by 1,601.

The first time that the score ended in a 9-8 score was 60 years before that. On December 20, 1918 the Pats beat the Regina Victorias.

Congrats to Adam Brooks on 100 Points

With his 100th point tonight Adam Brooks becomes just the 51st player in Regina Pats All-Time history to reach the century mark.

The 100 point threshold has been reached 68 times (by 51 players) with the first time coming in 1956-57 (Bill Hicke).

On this date in 1954

The Pats defeated the Moose Jaw Canucks by a score of 9-4.

The game was a rough affair in which a Pat player got involved in a fracas with a spectator.

On this day in 1982

I'm still working on the direction of The Blueliner but in the meantime I was looking through some notes and found that the Pats played the Tigers on Feb. 5, 1982 and figured that I would share the article.
