Pats Acquire Defenceman from Royals

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats have completed a trade with the Victoria Royals, acquiring defenceman Kade Pilton (’94).  Headed the other way are the rights to right wing Demico Hannoun (’95) and a conditional third round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

Pilton dressed for 43 games with the Royals last season totaling five goals and eight assists while adding 52 penalty minutes in 2011-12.

A second round selection (25th overall) in the 2009 Bantam Draft, Pilton brings considerable size to the Pats lineup standing 6’5” and tipping the scales at 186 pounds.

“Kade is a big, mobile defenceman that comes to our program with experience and fits into an age group we are trying to build around,” says General Manger Chad Lang.  “He’s a solid one-on-one defender who adds grit to our back end and features some offensive upside.”

The Pats take to the ice in their next pre-season action tomorrow night at the Brandt Centre against the Saskatoon Blades.
