Pats vs. Raiders: Live Blog

....Hewitt gets the nod.

....Scratches announced for the Pats are Stephenson and Moser.

....As I was waiting for warmup I was asked on 3 different occasions if I thought the Pats would make the playoffs. I honestly didn't have an answer for them. I hope they make the playoffs.... I will think on this and post something later.

....First period coming up!

....Silly fight.... Martell hits Herle with what I would call a clean hit not even hard or anything.... Herle decides to ask Martell to dance and it's on 2:54 in. Martell gets a few shots in and Herle's jersey comes over the head as it wasn't tied down. Martell gets 5 and Herle gets 5 and 10.

....I think the shot clock is broken or the operator isn't pushing the button as the shots aren't being registered.

....Another fight (after a hit).... This time Bidlevskii vs. Yaworski. Good tilt with both guys getting decent shots in. It was pretty even but I would give the edge to Artem 4:49 in.

....Raiders take a too many men minor 5:48 in giving the Pats the games first powerplay. They need to capitalize.

....9:14 Raiders go up 1-0 as Hewitt got beat high blocker side (may have been screened a bit by Borstmayer) I bet he wishes he had a do over on that goal. Fiddler gets the goal Wells and Ruopp pick up the helpers.

....10:39 Mitchell gets a goalie interference minor and runs into Tucker and a few other players bumped into him as well. Tucker looked as though he got a shoulder injury but upon closer inspection he must have been cut.... they needed to scrape up what looked like blood. Williams is now in goal. Raiders to the powerplay.

....13:50 Pats tie it up 1-1 on a goal from Rieder assisted by Olstad and Weal. Hard work pays off as he beats a sprawled out Williams for his 8th of the season.

....14:32 Pats take the lead 2-1. I missed the goal but Neigum gets the goal his 9th of the season Blidstrand and Reddin pick up the apples.

....15:06 Ruopp gets a high sticking minor putting the Pats to the powerplay.

....16:54 Pats go up 3-1 on a powerplay goal by Weal his 28th of the season that beat Williams 5 hole. Davidson picks up the lone assist.

....The shot clock is now working and the shots are 12-7 in favour of the Pats.

....17:35 Bell takes a elbowing minor as he and Wells were doing a little pushing. Bell dropped him with the elbow. Raiders to the man advantage. There might be some fireworks with these two later tonight.

....18:48 Raiders bench gets a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty ending their powerplay. 4on4.

....19:42 Pats go up 4-1 on a powerplay goal by Olstad is 6th of the season who works hard and deposits his own rebound. Schneider gets the lone assist.

....First ends 4-1 Pats. 14-8 in favour of Regina on the shot clock.

....2nd coming up shortly.

I've been trying to think about...

how to add more content to TheBlueliner but I'm not sure what I want to add here. I keep on saying to check back in the near future but I just never get back here. I have a couple of other things going on and I hope that I have more time to focus on things that I can put here. Seeing as Twitter is my main source I'll start embedding my tweets here. Earlier in the year, Rob Vanstone did a story on me for the Leader-Post which I'll share here: As far back as 41-year-old Kevin Shaw can remember, he has been fascinated with the @WHLPats — as evidenced by his extensive collection https://t.co/UD8JrxQSwG #WHL — Regina Leader-Post (@leaderpost) February 7, 2020 Some of my regular daily Tweets include Pats Alumni and their birthdays. I usually write a small biography on each player that had birthdays. July 11th's @WHLPats alumni birthdays...
