Live Blog: Pats v Raiders First Period

....I can honestly say that I'm excited for this game tonight. Every game from this point is important. I'm hoping the real Pats step up and take the two points from the Raiders.

....Hewitt gets his second start in a row and I'm expecting him to shine and improve on his 11 wins.

....Nice to see Reddin back in the line-up (I shouldn't say that for sure.... he was in the warmup).

....Rieder and Pavkovich are out.

....Mitchell is playing LW with Weal and Moser (RW). Davidson and Schneider are the starting d pair.

....4:02 Maylan takes a tripping call while forechecking against the Pats Schneider. Pats to the powerplay.

....No luck on the powerplay.

....7:05 Pats go up 1-0 on a goal by Moser (4th) on a sweet tip from a shot by Davidson. Mitchell picks up the 2nd assist. 1-0 Pats.

....11:31 Borstmayer gets tagged for boarding giving the man advantage to the Raiders.

....12:00 Raiders capitalize on the powerplay tying the game at 1. McNeill from Rowley and Corbin. 1-1.

....12:31 Raiders take the lead after receiving a gift 2 on 1. Parker is able to sneak the puck past a sprawled ot Hewitt. Maylan and Revenko get the helpers. 2-1 Raiders.

....13:16 Mitchell has been awarded a penalty shot after being taken down on a breakaway. Nice move but nicer stop. Still 2-1.

....13:36 Bettauer takes a cross checking minor giving the Pats the advantage and opportunity to tie it.

....13:44 Tie game! Mitchell tips home a Bell wrister on the Old Dutch powerplay. Assists to Bell and Davidson. 2-2. Edit: This was changed in the second period.

....17:55 Bidlevskii gets a roughing penalty giving the Raiders another powerplay to pretty much end the period (unless they score).

....Good kill by the Pats.

....14-11 shots for the Raiders.

....Time for the intermission.

I've been trying to think about...

how to add more content to TheBlueliner but I'm not sure what I want to add here. I keep on saying to check back in the near future but I just never get back here. I have a couple of other things going on and I hope that I have more time to focus on things that I can put here. Seeing as Twitter is my main source I'll start embedding my tweets here. Earlier in the year, Rob Vanstone did a story on me for the Leader-Post which I'll share here: As far back as 41-year-old Kevin Shaw can remember, he has been fascinated with the @WHLPats — as evidenced by his extensive collection https://t.co/UD8JrxQSwG #WHL — Regina Leader-Post (@leaderpost) February 7, 2020 Some of my regular daily Tweets include Pats Alumni and their birthdays. I usually write a small biography on each player that had birthdays. July 11th's @WHLPats alumni birthdays...
