Day 2 Begins

First up it's a rookie scrimmage between Grey and Red.

A defensive break down costs team red a goal. #25 took the shot that somehow squeezed through the Red goalie leaving the puck on the doorstep for the easy tap in for #21. Give Grey the 1-0 lead.

The first period ends 1-0 for Grey.

I think they are having some issues with the ice yet as they are having a break to clean the ice with only a dry scrape (no flood). They never did that yesterday.

I have noticed that a few players are now on different teams so what I knew yesterday about some of the players may be right out the window today. No that it matters much I'm enjoying myself and the hockey has been pretty good.

#20 Red ties up the contest on a goal from in tight on a scramble with Grey's goalie down and out.

#19 Red scores on a rush less than a minute later going five hole on a very nice play to get past the defenceman making the game 2-1. I'm not sure who #19 is but he has some serious wheels.

It looks like it's going to be a three period game as both teams switch goalies just over halfway through the second period.

#15 Grey scores just seconds after the goalie change bating Red's netminder just inside the far post. The game is now knotted at 2.

#26 Red gives his team a lead beating the goalie low glove side restoring the lead.

Period 2 ends with Red leading 3-2.

#2 Red snipes on a wrister from the point on the PP to give Red a 4-2 lead.

#19 Red makes it 5-2 on a wrist shot that originally hit the post and off of the goalie and in. That was also on the PP.

#19 Red puts the game out of reach on a short handed breakaway where he beats the goalie high blocker off the post and in (he didn't stand a chance). Red leads 6-2 with less than 2 minutes left.

Final score 6-2 Red.

I've been trying to think about...

how to add more content to TheBlueliner but I'm not sure what I want to add here. I keep on saying to check back in the near future but I just never get back here. I have a couple of other things going on and I hope that I have more time to focus on things that I can put here. Seeing as Twitter is my main source I'll start embedding my tweets here. Earlier in the year, Rob Vanstone did a story on me for the Leader-Post which I'll share here: As far back as 41-year-old Kevin Shaw can remember, he has been fascinated with the @WHLPats — as evidenced by his extensive collection https://t.co/UD8JrxQSwG #WHL — Regina Leader-Post (@leaderpost) February 7, 2020 Some of my regular daily Tweets include Pats Alumni and their birthdays.
