Edmonton, Alberta – In the 3rd round, 47th overall the Pats have selected Kyle Burroughs from Langley, B.C.

This was originally the property of the Lethbridge Hurricanes, but was acquired in the deal that saw Carter Ashton and Craig Orfino come to the Pats in November.

Regina Pats Director of Scouting, Todd Ripplinger, “We are ecstatic to welcome Kyle to the Hockey Club, he is an all-around great puck handling defenceman, who is very smart and physical. With his skills and pucks sense, we had him pegged as a first rounder.”

RD – Kyle Burroughs
5’10” 155lbs.
Born – July 12/95
Hometown – Langley, B.C.

Past 3rd round picks include: Justin Slobozian (2007), Alex Pym (2006), Jeff Bosch (2005), Linden Rowat (2004) and Matt Delahey (2004).

The Pats also made a deal with the Portland Winterhawks, sending their other 3rd round selection, 49th overall in exchange for Portland’s 67th and 102nd overall picks. This gives the Pats a 4th round pick.
