I don't know what has gotten into the Pats but they are looking waaay better the last 2 games. Jordan Eberle exudes confidence and I think that everyone is following suit. He is so good it's scary. One play he took the puck wide down the right wall and Eric Doyle appeared to rub him out but Eberle actually out-muscled him and got deep in the zone and fed a beauty pass out to Leffler who connected on a one-timer but was stopped by the Bronco netminder.
Dawson Guhle had a good game in net stopping 22 of 23. Swift never really had much pressure and most of their chances were from the outside (or weren't great shots) and Guhle made the saves he had to.
Brandon Davidson is quickly becoming my favourite Pat. I know he's 18 but he's still a rookie for the squad and he's easily made the Pats top 4 defence making the Pats choice to move Bell to RW a lot easier I would imagine. Davidson has already tallied 5 points in 7 games which is amazing.
Brett Leffler is showing some incredible grit and energy. Although he seems to disappear at times you have to take into fact that Weal and Eberle are his linemates and they are a treat to watch.
More random thoughts about some other players....
Alex Pym has played up to his potential, if anyone says otherwise they have no clue what they are talking about. Still makes mistakes here and therr but he has played great.
Myles Bell at forward has had a good go of things. I'm not sure why he's playing forward (other than the issue of the Pats lack of team speed, and he is a fast skilled player) but like I said earlier in regards to Davidson making the decision way easier.
Where has this Kyle Mulder been? He has been playing amazing the last 2 games and probably has seen more ice time this year than all of last year, he's even killing penalties. I am liking his progress.
Killian Hutt is a little offensive dynamo that seems to have a hidden gear. I can't wait to see him when he gets his wind.... looks like he is just starting training camp but is cashing in and fitting in really well.
Jordan Weal is really the "Real Deal" man when this kid has the puck it's scary for the defence. Only getting better.
Colten Teubert has been a menace for the opposition. I really don't know what the fans have against him but holy man he seems to get blamed for everything bad that happens. I didn't hear too much tonight but people need to grow up and realize that there are more players on the ice than him. If he wouldn't have been tossed (10 minute misconduct) late in the game I think there might have been a gong show. I'm liking his style.... one of the Pats "Bash Brothers"
Matt Delahey is definitely the other "Bash Brother" and I think he is our definsive stalwart. His ability on the PK is great.
One more for tonight. Matt Strueby has really made his case as an overage (I still don't get that term, but that's another story) with 5 goals in 7 games. He's definitely not fancy but his workman like approach is getting him lots of ice and he's paying dividends.
Overall, I'm starting to really like the team this year, keep in mind I said that last year at this time and look what happened. But this is a new year and there seems to be a different attitude amongst the boys. I hope they can keep this up and make 09-10 a great season for Pats' fans.
