Curtis Hunt quotes as he's preparing for 09-10

From Rod's blog. Hopefully he doesn't mind that I am posting the comments (saves people from having to scroll and search out the comments.

Pats coach Curtis Hunt was on Sportsline last night as well. The team dropped goalies Linden Rowat and Derek Tendler on Monday and has elected to go with Damien Ketlo and Dawson Guhle for the 2009-2010 season. Here are some comments from Curtis from the show:

ON WHERE THEY STAND AFTER THE PRESEASON:

HUNT: I look at us today and we're a better group and a better team. We're a lot more committed unit and have a greater understanding of what we need to be than when we first got together for camp a month ago.

ON MISSING FOUR NHL DRAFTED PLAYERS RIGHT NOW:

HUNT: Obviously you're taking out four go-to players (Jordan Eberle, Colten Teubert, Matt Delahey and Garrett Mitchell) with great experience in the league. That's a big void in terms of leadership as well as the abilities they bring to the game. Having said that it's allowed us a look into the window of the future because a lot of young players had to step up and fill some valuable ice time.

ON THE TRADEMARK HE'D LIKE FOR HIS REGINA PATS:

HUNT: Our mandate here is we want to be an aggressive hockey club that plays with great responsiblity. We want to be stingy defensively but we want to provide some offence for our fans. We want to be a team that can win games 2-1, but also a team that can come from behind. Are we there yet? No.
