Assistant coach rumour

I have heard over the last couple of days that Mark Johnston (former assistant coach in Wheat King Land) will be named Pats assistant coach. Rod Pedersen has verified the rumour and I look forward to seeing what he brings to the table.

Wait a minute... shouldn't a team already have a Head Coach in line if they already plan on hiring an assistant? I'm guessing that there is more to this story than meets the eye. Has Hunt agreed to come back to the Pats? Has Michael Dyck contacted Parker? Has he ok'd having Johnston as an assistant? I wish I had some answers... but speculation is good for the soul. Isn't it? I know onw person wh has answers... That's Brent Parker. I really hope we find out who the next coach is soon.

*Edit: I couldn't remember when Johnston was an assistant so I checked hockeydb.com to check and I was surprised to see that he assisted in Brandon so long... 1990-2001. Six 40 win seasons (one 39 win season).... he's got experience.
