So much for the live blog....

I got too involved in the game and I didn't think I could keep up with a live blog so I figured I would just have some observations about the game and go from there.

Well I don't know about you but spotting any team a 2 goal lead in the first period of any game has to be a real morale destroyer. The team rallied and fought back and eventually tied the game. In all honesty I know the team has played 48 games this season and I'm still not used to the fight back this team has. I know it didn't produce a win but man I'm proud when they play hard and do have some fight back.

It's unfortunate that the boys couldn't finish off the game but they got the point. I know, I know it's not 2 points but in the grand scheme of things the points matter.... all of them.

A few things from the game....

Jordan Weal is becoming more and more of a machine out there. Putting up points, playing all special teams and now even laying out the other teams star player with a massive hip check (a great hit!). Well deserving of the first star in my opinion.

I don't know if it was the opponent or if the coaches got after the players but man were they ever hitting tonight. Maybe I didn't notice it before but I think the team was flying around hitting everything. With that being said the Tigers are a hard hitting team as well so it was nice seeing a physical game that really had no dirty play.

It was nice to see Brandon Underwood back in the lineup. Back to my last point... maybe Underwood's presence in the lineup helped the guys feel more comfortable being physical? I can't really say but it was nice to see the hits and glad to see Underwood back in game action.

I guess I should have taken notes because I'm drawing a blank for what I wanted to say....

Well I do have a couple more things that I just thought of. A big ups to Tanner Olstad for dropping the mitts with Hurley and giving up over 6" and close to 30 lbs. He stood in there and did good for himself.

I guess it was just one more thing for now.... If I think of more tomorrow I will post them.

I won't have my computer at the game tomorrow as it is a Pats/Warriors clash and I will be too involved emotionally (ha ha I know, I know) I will have a blog afterwards. That won't stop me from posting other stuff during the day as I do have some ideas.

Goodnight all, and remember this.... GO PATS GO!!!

Live Bloggin' Again! Pats v. Tigers

Man I'm happy to be back up and running tonight and now I can live blog! Thanks to DP!

This is on of many important games the Pats are facing pretty much until the end of the season as so many teams are vying for the top four spots in the East as the races are insanely close. It's going to be amazing.

Well the lineup changes for the two clubs tonight are #5 Lewington and #21 McKay for the Tigers and #4 Burroughs, #25 Moser and #22 Stephenson for the Pats. The Pats welcome Brandon Underwood back into the lineup.

Starters for the Tigers: #30 Bunz in goal, #6 Konan and #15 Bettauer on defense. #9 Shinkaruk, #27 Bredo and #25 Etem are the forwards.

For the Pats it looks like they are matching power with power and have Hewitt between the pipes with Jobke and Bidlevskii on D. Sheidl with Weal and Rieder as the Pats starters.

Tyler Adair and Pat Smith are the stripes calling the action with Matthew Lawrence and Curtis Funk on the lines.

Stay Tuned....

And GO PATS GO!!!!!

I really don't like....

junk internet. And guess what's been happening? Junk internet that is keeping me from posting. But it's working now and hopefully it stays working. I don't really have too much to say after the last couple of games as it really isn't worth it now. Fingers crossed that my internet decides to stay working over the next while as it's hard to blog (and work on my other project).

Hopefully I'm back and for good.

Pats vs. Royals

Sorry for the lack of a blog for the last Pats game in Prince Albert but had nothing to really say as I just listened to the broadcast on good old CKRM.

About tonight's game:

I'm looking forward to seeing the "First Ever" visit by the Royals to Regina.

I can't wait to see the physicality of newly acquired defenceman Luke Fenske. It sounds like he might be a fan favorite type.

I also can't wait to see Martin Marincin don the Pats sweater. I think he could be a key component on a nice run by the Pats. I got a kick out of the picture in the LeaderPost of Coach Conacher talking to Marincin and the height difference (maybe it's been a long week but I found it hilarious).

Anyway, probably no live blog as I don't have access to wi-fi in the rink at the moment but I will probably be tweeting up a storm (@theblueliner)

As always,

Pats fairly quiet at the deadline

I'm not going to celebrate but it looks like I have restored my internet at home so I will be able to blog again (fingers crossed it will last for a while).

Well back on topic.....

Maybe I'm a crazy Pats fan but in all honesty I really like the Martin Marincin (and picks) for Ricard Blidstrand (and picks) deal. It's not always easy trading first (or second) round picks but in this regard I think that Trader Chad will be able to recoup the assets down the road.... in the future for the future. Looks like Marincin will wear jersey #27 (per the Pats website). I have to give credit to Blidstrand as he has been playing really well recently and I'm sure that he will do well in PG.

I was expecting a couple more moves by the Pats but they never happened. I never thought that the Pats would trade Weal or Davidson but I wouldn't have been shocked if deals were done. It's the way the junior hockey game goes. I'm honestly glad that the team kept the leadership group together.

I hear people talking about the "future" and that not trading Weal (etc.) has yet again screwed up the team for years.... I don't agree at all. What would a Weal deal have done to the chemistry of the team? He has more than twice as many points as the second place scorer on the Pats. How would you replace that? Bringing in a 16 and/or 17 year old (or two) may help in the long run..... but would this help the team this year? Currently sitting 7 games over the .500 mark and only 9 points out of first in the conference (10 up on 9th) how does a team trade your top player and "hope" to make the playoffs as I'm sure the chemistry would be wrecked.

Well now what do the Pats do with 9 defencemen I asked.... and checking out the Twitterverse and Adam Beukeboom (@abeukeboom35) tweeted this: I hate this part of hockey. @Zimboomafoo @lpeel34 gonna miss you guys.

So I guess Nathan Zimbaluk and Landon Peel have been re-assigned.

Digging a little further....

The SJHL tweeted this: SJHL @theSJHL 2h Reply Retweeted Favorite · Open Regina Pats Re-Assign 93D Nathan Zimbaluk to Battleford. Stars move Zimbaluk to Melfort, while Zach MacLellan's rights revert back to BAT.

Good luck to Nathan and Landon. Hopefully they come back next year and prove their worth and make the Pats on a full time basis (there just isn't enough ice to go around).

I've rambled on long enough, hopefully my internet is permanently fixed and can get back to blogging. Fingers crossed.

Pats vs. Blades

God willing (my internet is acting up again) I will post some thoughts after the game tonight.

I will be tweeting it up @theblueliner.

Pats vs. Oil Kings

New Year's Day!

I probably won't be live blogging as I don't have the wifi right now. But I'm taking my netbook and I am going to take notes that I can read. I will probably do some tweeting too (@theblueliner).

Go Pats Go!

Edit: I just realized that I never posted my thoughts about this game.... With work being crazy and my spare time being consumed by the WJHC's I guess I never had time. The WJHC's are almost over so I can get back to normalcy.
