Live blog: Jan. 2/11 Pats v Hitmen: 3rd period

Coming up!

Sorry for the delay in the third period post.... I've been eating ice cream.

I don't know if Calgary is laying back or not but it looks like the momentum has swung the Pats way to start the third.

At 5:01 Tyler Borstmayer netted his first career goal on a wrist shot from just outside the circle beating Snider blocker side. Mitchell and Olstad pick up the assists. Pats are making a game of it now. 3-2.

The Pats have started winnng faceoffs and has led to winning more battles. The game is in their grasp.... I hope.

The Pats are getting sloppy and the Hitmen are taking the play to them. Talk about momentum swings.... not many shots but they have the play. The mo' keeps a swinging.

Pats go on the pp with 7:17 left when Cheek is called for holding.

The pp ammounted to nothing.

But as the Hitmen player stepped out of the box Jordan Weal tied it up firing in a rebound on a soft shot thrown on the net with 5:16 left. Reddin and Bell pick up the assists. 3-3.

Sloppy play for the next four minutes leads to numerous scoring chances at both ends. No one takes the lead before the 60 minutes is up. Overtime is needed.

32-28 shots for the Pats.
