Regina, Saskatchewan – With the injury to Damien Ketlo and the youth of the rest of the goaltenders in the Regina Pats system, the team today acquired 18 year old Brett Martyniuk from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a conditional draft pick.

The Winnipeg native is in his second year with the Americans and has a 1-1 record this season as a back-up with a 2.73 GAA and a shutout.

He was a teammate of Kyle Mulder with the Winnipeg Thrashers club that went to the Telus Cup finals in 2008.

Martyniuk will join the Pats as they finish their road trip through the Central Division. The next action is tomorrow night as they take on the Kootenay Ice. It’s a 5:35 pre-game show start on CKRM with the puck dropping at 6pm.
