Tough start to Pats Camp

Lumsden, Saskatchewan – The players were ready, so were the coaches, scouts, training staff and even the team photographer.

There was only one problem....the ice wasn’t ready. Due to poor ice problems at the Lumsden Arena, the first two sessions of training camp had to be cancelled.

The night did have the players register, get their head shots taken and get a chance to meet the coaches. It will be an early night for all involved, because the two practices have been rescheduled for tomorrow morning.

Here is the schedule for day two:

Training camp will continue until the annual Prairie Mobile Communications Blue and White game on Tuesday night. It’s a 7pm puck drop at the Lumsden Arena.

This would have been nice to know before I got to the rink and had to find out from an attendant that it was canceled. The ice did look questionable but I had no idea that it was that bad. Live and learn I guess.
